Sécheron possesses years of experience developing and manufacturing electrical safety products and solutions for railway DC traction power substations. We are committed to delivering equipment that protects property, passengers, and personnel. Our know-how covers voltage limiting devices.

During normal operation of railway electrical systems, dangerous voltages can flow through accessible points of the return and earthing circuits. This is due to voltage drops along the return circuit caused by current train traffic or isolation faults.

To keep these voltages below the admissible values defined in the EN 50122‑1 standard, a voltage limiting device must be used as a short‑circuiter between the negative and earth potentials. Our VGUARD voltage limiting device integrates proven Sécheron technologies. Our know-how also covers critical devices like protection relays, measurement amplifiers, and thyristor-based static switches.
