Last month, the Ústí nad Labem Public Transport Company (DPMÚL) began the construction of a new trolleybus line, marking the first expansion of its trolleybus network in 16 years.

Currently, Ústí nad Labem operates less than 47 kilometers of trolleybus lines. The new line involves two sections, with a total length of 2.5 km.

The first section will connect Krásné Březno and Dobytice. The second section will bring the addition of a trolley line from the Pod Holoměřice stop with a connection to the existing catenary network at the intersection of Božtěšická – Vinařská streets.
The contract for CZK 44.5 million was won by the company Chládek a Tintěra, Pardubice.

Sécheron is proud to take part in this project by supplying traction converter station with an output of 1100 kVA.

The core of the substation will be DC technology from Sécheron’s own production in Prague’s Horní Počernice.

Capacity trolleybuses will head to the route.

123 new traction masts will be built on the route, which will also serve for public lighting. The new catenary is designed as a single-track system and will run from Krásné Březno to Dobytice. The line will be divided into three power supply sections and the masts will be octagonal squared.

A new electric switch is being installed in front of the Výstupní stop, from where the line will turn towards Výstupní Street. At the end of it, it will then lead through the roundabout at the Lidl store to the point of the section division.

This expansion aims to replace conventional buses between the two parts of the city with trolleybuses, including partial replacement of 18-meter trolleybuses.
