SEPCOS-PRO is an autonomous, microprocessor-controlled line fault detector. It is a new high-tech generation of protection relay that satisfies the most demanding safety requirements applicable to DC electrical power transmission networks. SEPCOS-PRO is used for monitoring traction network segments and for logging events. It analyses the current gradient through cyclic measurements at the supply point of the substation to the catenary. The measurements are made via electrically isolated transducer (for example MIU 10). This protection relay is developed for installation in DC switchgear or rectifier unit of DC substation of public transport systems such as streetcars, underground railway, commuter trains or trolley buses. With SEPCOS-PRO, Sécheron have developed a completely new generation of line fault detectors. Designed as a universal unit it replaces the SEDEL and the DDL series which in the past has demonstrated its usefulness and efficiency in many applications. SEPCOS-PRO development is based on the safety requirement of the railway standards EN50126 / EN 50128 and EN 50129 according to safety integrity level SIL 2.

The line fault detector “Protection relay” SEPCOS-PRO is used for monitoring traction network segments and for logging events. It analyses the current gradient and voltages through cyclic measurements at the supply point of the substation to the catenary. The measurements are made via electrically isolated transducer (for example the isolated amplifier type MIU 10 developed by Sécheron).

SEPCOS I : Control & parametrization softwareThe software SEPCOS-I is the interface PC program to configure and read the SEPCOS data. This software allows in particular to: - Modify the protection parameters and the command parameters of the cubicle.
- Transfer on a PC the information recorded by the SEPCOS
- Download on a SEPCOS the information (parameters) recorded in a PC
- Show at real time the analogical inputs value and detection result.
